Ceramic fiber gland packing is available with or without reinforcement.
Properties
Ceramic fiber gland packing is available in the form of:
-
unreinforced - temperature resistance from -200°C to + 600°C
-
reinforced - temperature resistance from -200°C to + 1100°C
It comes in a square cross-section with a diameter from 4 mm to 50 mm.
Ceramic packing is braided throughout from aluminosilicate (ceramic) yarn, which is responsible for very good thermal insulation properties of the packing. It comes in a square cross-section from 4 mm to 50 mm. The square cross-section makes the sealant better fit to the sealed surface and is easier to install than a rope.
Ceramic sealant is resistant to oil, grease, salt solutions, acids and bases, except for concentrated ones, and can work in an environment with a pH of 0-9.
