Properties
PTFE (Teflon) tape has a multi-directional fibrous structure and is made of expanded, pure PTFE - polytetrafluoroethylene with a microporous structure. Thanks to the expansion process, i.e. cross-linking, and additional expansion of the polymer structures, Teflon sealing tape is distinguished by its softness and flexibility, which facilitates assembly, and such properties as:
good flexibility, strength and dimensional stability;
- pressure from vacuum to 25 bar depending on the type of flange;
high temperature of continuous use up to 260°C;
non-toxicity and resistance to environmental aging;
excellent chemical resistance in the range of pH 0-14;
has health quality approvals and is physiologically harmless and approved for direct contact with food
Application
large size DN flange connections: smooth, with groove and tongue - fits well to the flange unevenness
nodes and apparatus: pumps, dam fittings, hatches, covers, machine bodies, sight glasses, pressure vessels, manholes, reservoirs and upholstered vessels;
flanges made of various types of materials, for example glass, glass fiber reinforced plastic, aluminum, graphite, ceramics, steel, rubberized materials
