Textured glass yarn
Textured glass yarn of E-glass 8-16 microns in thicknesses 430-5000 Tex.
The glass yarn is heat-resistant, tear-resistant and non-flammable.
Thanks to its unique properties, it is a raw material used in construction, road construction, aviation and many other industries.
Glass fiber yarn is used as an insulating element and a raw material for the production of sealants and sealing ropes, fabrics, tapes, mats, mat-fabrics as well as construction and road meshes.
Properties
Glass yarn is a widely used raw material in Poland, thanks to the following properties:
high resistance to temperature and its rapid changes
high breaking strength,
perfect thermal insulation,
non-flammability,
very low thermal conductivity.
Glass yarn construction
Glass yarn is a material consisting of loose, thin, long glass fibers up to 35 micrometers thick, obtained from a molten mass of soda-lime glass. The glass fiber yarn is chemically and mechanically resistant, and its elastic fibers are non-flammable. The fibers are also hygroscopic and do not rot.
Application
Glass yarn is used as an insulating element and a raw material for the production of sealants and sealing ropes, fabrics, tapes, mats, mat-fabrics as well as construction and road meshes.
It is recommended mainly to manufacturers of sealants and ropes, as well as ribbons and technical fabrics used in sea and land transport, aviation, automotive, construction, road construction, founding, in the metallurgical industry, in the power industry, electronics and finally in modeling. The glass yarn is used wherever high water tolerance is required. It is also used as an insulating material in electrical engineering. Due to the low coefficient of thermal conductivity, it is used in the aforementioned construction industry for insulation of industrial installations (pipelines, boilers, tanks) and for thermal insulation of ceilings and walls. When water glass is used as a binder, fittings are made of it, as well as elements for insulation of pipes.
Glass yarn (and products made of it) can be used to insulate devices operating at temperatures from -200 to 550°C
