Textolit rolls - information
Other trade names: REZOTEX rod, TCF, TURBAX, NOVOTEX, TEXTOLIT, TEXTIT, TUFNOL, TCF cotton-phenolic laminate.
Textolite rods are made of several layers of cotton fabric saturated with phenolic resin. Textolit is one of the oldest construction materials that is still used on a large scale. It is most often used in the electrical industry, mining, metallurgy and agriculture.
The Rezotex, textolite, Turbax, Novotex rod is a semi-finished product that is used to cut out ready-made structural elements. It is extremely easy to machine, therefore it does not require specialized cutting devices and is eagerly used in small and medium-sized plants and workshops.
Properties
- very good machinability
- good electrical insulating properties
- high mechanical strength - very good dimensional stability at high loads (creep resistance)
- permissible continuous work temperature up to 120°C and temporary work up to 180°C
- low friction coefficient, very good sliding properties and high abrasion resistance
- textolit can work in oil and lubricants
- good chemical resistance
- low water absorption
- vibration damping ability
Application
- bearings and slide bushings
- guides
- rolling and running elements
- gears
- transporting and tensioning rollers
The ease of mechanical processing of textolit makes it readily used in smaller industrial companies and plants. This material does not require specialized machining equipment and allows for cutting small and precise elements.
The advantage of textolit is also that it can work in difficult conditions such as moisture, aggressive chemicals, high mechanical loads (impact, pressure, abrasion), etc.
