Mechanically resistant polyamide with glass fibers
Properties of the material
Polyamide PA 6 GF 30 is a polyamide reinforced with 30% glass fibers. Thanks to this modification, the material has such enhanced features as:
- mechanical strength
- tear strength and dynamic loads
- stiffness
- surface hardness
- dimensional stability
- abrasion resistance
- resistance to high temperatures - the temperature of short-term work can reach 180°C and the temperature of permanent work 120°C
Polyamide PA 6 GF 30 with glass is a material of high mechanical strength and resistance to abrasive wear and creep. It has very good fatigue strength and mechanical damping properties. Due to the glass fiber reinforcement, polyamide PA GF 30 shows high resistance to loads at high temperatures and long periods.
Moreover, it has high resistance to oils, fats and fuels. It is also easy to process - it can be easily cut and glued.
However, compared to glassless polyamide, this type has inferior sliding properties. Glass fibers have abrasive properties, therefore polyamide with glass can scratch the adjacent surface.
Application
Polyamide PA 6 GF 30 with glass fiber is used in various industries, mainly in:
electronics
machine, plant and equipment construction, for example in the production of agricultural machinery, tools and parts for transmissions, tool holders, etc.
automotive
The very good thermal and mechanical properties of polyamide reinforced with glass fiber qualify it for use in parts exposed to long-term and high static loads at high temperatures. However, it should be remembered that this type of polyamide has inferior sliding properties and can scratch the adjacent surface.
